CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness program that utilizes functional movements from a variety of backgrounds designed to increase work capacity in all areas of movement.
Where CrossFit Workouts and Exercises Come From
CrossFit is a type of workout program that is designed to help increase your fitness and health. While there are lots of different options for workout routines, CrossFit is supremely effective in delivering results for people of any age and fitness level.
CrossFit workouts are all based on functional movements drawn from a variety of disciplines to help increase overall strength and fitness. The goal is to make you better at doing anything you might do as an active human being. CrossFit gets inspiration from sports such as gymnastics, weightlifting, running, and rowing.
All CrossFit workouts are measurable in some form or fashion. With CrossFit, part of the goal is to do more work or repetitions in less time. A great indicator of your fitness is your power output – or the amount of work you can get done in a certain amount of time.

Utilizing the motivation that comes from competition, the fun of games and the camaraderie of group effort, CrossFit workouts will push you achieve greater intensity. Since everything is measured, either in time or reps or loads, it is easy to track progress and focus on continual improvement. This also allows any workout to be scaled by those same metrics to match your needs. Here at TriForce Fitness, we started doing CrossFit as a complement to our other athletic endeavors, and found that it was a great way to get results QUICKLY and stay in shape. Unfortunately, it became apparent that without excellent instruction and coaching, CrossFit could put people at higher risk for injury because of the high intensity and technical aspects of the workouts.
This is why at TriForce we utilize the power of proper nutrition, physical therapy principals and strength and conditioning to form programs that are meant to keep you continually getting stronger and more fit, safely. Having a solid base of nutrition, technique and strength will allow you to advance your fitness level for the long-term.
